But I don't because I have to spend my time on life while it's making other plans. After all, it's about the Art & the Music. Working on the Craft. Being the best you can be. Taking a stand, Sticking to the guns. That ain't no game for quitters, who take the easy way out
Chicago Vin Earnshaw: Blog
I started this Blog because they tell me I need one in order to promote my music online. I figured an easy way to start off would be sort of a faux interview in which I'd answer a couple of questions that people alway ask me. Hopefully I will come up with entertaining silliness and you will find it interesting and leave some comments I regularly check in here, so lets hear what you have to say. If anybody has a question about music or songwriting or acting, please feel free to ask here. Please No Religion,Politics, or Sex/Dating. I have enough trouble is it is.

Q: You live in Providence, RI USA, are you really from Chicago?
A: No, The name, Chicago Vin, was given to me by old high school friend & fellow musician, Chris Stovall Brown. When we were kids we used to sit around his cellar listening to his massive collection of blues records & we decided that in order to be blues musicians we needed to have cool names like the Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf & Sonny Boy Williamson. So he became Stovall Brown & I became Chicago Vin. I guess the name stuck with me all these years.

I remeber hearing Hank Williams sing "Hey Good Looking" on the radio while fishing on my father's boat. Back then, there was no MTV or American Idol & music as competition. There was Rock & Roll Radio & shows like Hullabaloo Scene & Where the Action is on TV featuring bands like Paul Revere & the Radiers, ? & The Mysterians, The Shadows of Knight, Soul singers like Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, & James Brown, as well as the famous British groups. I was heavily influenced by this amalgam of musical forces & still try to incorporate them into the songs that I write. I love the sound of a Vox Organ & a fuzzed out guitar. I also love a "Good [...]
